Princess Dairies

I went out with Dree today for dinner at Long John's and Princess Diaries 2. Thanks Dree, I really enjoyed the evening! ^_^ However, she addressed me so many times as 'brown cow' that I think that the word 'Princess Dairies' kept popping in my head.
As it was Deepavali, it was crowded (like duh), leaving us cramped in the middle of the 5th row from the screen. As we were so engorssed in our Long John Silvers, we both ended up coming in late and hence we ended up squeezing through the crowded cinema rows... ooh so embarassing. Then, we realised we had no popcorn, and so we squeezed out again.... bought popcorn and squeezed back in. Baaaahhh, I feel like an embarassed glutton.

Although I admit to being bimbolised (or more correctly himbolised) by the movie, it was actually very sweet and i am very sure I could have enjoyed it much more if I wasn't so stoned...
Speaking of stoned, an unexpected phone call from my best friend in the middle of my evening completely balled me into the stoning mood. Apparently, he had thoughts about returning to the AC 'heritage'. This kind of kicked off these consolidations of thoughts i have been collecting all this while regarding the 'AC' culture.
What precisely is this whole AC name that everyone I know find so revering? Is it a less academically-honed alternative to the Raffles family? Is it simply a brand name like 'Prada' or 'Mango'? Maybe it is something greater, like an eternal brotherhood forged by loyalty and friendship? Or worse... maybe it is just a low-brow merchandise like 'BATA' which for some reason everyone percieves as a exceptional good like 'Timberland'?
Of course, within this mere blog, I offer no revelations or enlightenment to you asI, myself have yet to discover its meaning. I have yet to reach the end of my journey along this AC paved brick road, maybe (just maybe) I'll pick up bits of understanding here and there, but until then I still continue to adhere to my roots and continue my duties.
Whatever is the true meaning and value of AC is, I still believe it is completely independent from the concepts of personal success, love and identity. One cannot assume that AC can subsitute or even replace these. Success, Love and of course... Identity are all things that every single individual creates for himself/herself. They are unqiue, specially suited for the individual. It is not like a .... blog template in which you can obatin well-prepared blog-entry boxes, swanky link columns simply by just applying it to yourself. We are humans, not blogs.
Whatever it is, I just want to tell you that if you expect to find success, love and identity as complementary rewards simply by placing a brand name over yourself... you are severely deluded. In fact, if you open your eyes and look carefully into the mirror after cleasning your face each morning, you'll find that the only things you'll ever need is not a swanky brand name, but simply yourself and God.
